Second Annual Beth Waters Memorial Lecture

Lessons Learned From The Global Polio Eradication Initiative

The second annual Beth Waters Memorial Lecture was held in Washington, DC. Dr. Bruce Aylward, director of the World Health Organization's Polio Eradication Initiative, delivered a compelling talk on the lessons learned in his mission to wipe out polio. The Initiative was launched in 1988 and has immunized more than two billion children around the world, but as Dr. Aylward explains, there is much more work to do.
