Maternal Mortality: A Human Rights Approach

Amnesty campaigns for preventable maternal death to be recognised as a human rights issue

In May, 2009 Amnesty International launched, for the first time, a global campaign which recognizes maternal mortality and morbidity as a human rights issue and not just a health one. Global Health TV met up with Meghna Abraham to discuss the campaign and find out why a human rights approach is necessary in the fight against maternal mortality.
