At the World Congress of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Health in Mexico, President-elect David Wood of World Heart Federation discusses his organisation’s commitment to reducing premature death from cardiovascular disease by 25% by 2025. This is in line with existing World Health Organisation initiatives to reduce mortality from noncommunicable diseases. David Wood believes the World Health Federation’s strengths in political advocacy are key to achieving this.
